When I first join this abaccs, in 2007, i am just curious what is abaccs actually. Then, i join its committee this year, i discover some of the information about the history of abaccs. Here, there are some of information that i would like to share about (for those who are interested la!).
history
Association of Bachelor of Accountancy Students ( ABACCs ) is one of the oldest students’ association in UiTM. The registration number SH003 indicates that ABACCs was the third students’ association to be registered in UiTM. At that time, Bachelor of Accountancy was known by the name of Advanced Diploma in Accountancy.
To become a dynamic and effective organization for the Bachelor of Accountancy students in acting as a legal body in providing a mean for its members to voice up anything concerning the students welfare and affairs through the appropriate channels.
ABACCs has the power to–
II. organize any physical activities such as expedition, motivational camp, marching, forest preserving programs and etc. ;
III. organize any intellectual and academicals program such as conventions, conferences, exhibitions, expos, forums, workshops, quizzes, competitions, lectures, academicals missions, career talk, industrial visits, and etc. ;
IV. organize any leadership activities such as conventions, seminars, conferences, expos, workshops, quizzes, lectures, leadership camps and other leadership programs;
V. organize any religious and self-building programs such as tilawah, tafsir, hafazan, berzanji, conferences, seminars, expos, forums, workshops, quizzes, competitions, lectures and other religious activities;
VI. organize any social and cultures activities such as dinners, award ceremony, tea ceremony, culture and art shows, poetry, debates, dramas, choirs, singing competitions, gamelan, theatres, and other socio-culture activities;
VII. organize any society welfare activities such as visits to orphanages, exhibitions, expos and other social services activities;
VIII. organize any sports events such as traditional games as well as other outdoors games;
IX. by virtue of Kaedah 7, Kaedah-Kaedah Institusi-Institusi Pelajaran (Tatatertib Pelajar-Pelajar) 1976, convene any meeting with all or any members of the association;
X. by virtue of Kaedah 10, Kaedah-Kaedah Institusi-Institusi Pelajaran (Tatatertib Pelajar-Pelajar) 1976, publish or distribute any documents;
XI. by virtue of Kaedah 11, Kaedah-Kaedah Institusi-Institusi Pelajaran (Tatatertib Pelajar-Pelajar) 1976, organize, hold or join any activities outside the University;
XII. by virtue of Seksyen 11, Akta Institusi-Institusi Pelajaran (Tatatertib) 1976, collect any funds or other properties by way of collections, sponsorships, pleads, and other appropriate form of collections;
XIII. by virtue of Seksyen 10, Akta Institusi-Institusi Pelajaran (Tatatertib) 1976, cooperates, connects or make alliance with any other associations, bodies, or group of individuals;
XIV. establish, from time to time, ad hoc committees from the members of the association for any specific purposes; and
XV. Carry any other duties and power which is necessary for it to perform its functions effectively;
XVI. the association cannot order any collections of money or other form of property for the purpose of fees or any other payments before attaining approval from any of its General Meeting and Advisor,
The association is prohibited from establishing
- any students associations neither at college level nor at the university level; or
- any ad hoc committee which is similar or in the purpose of executing the functions and power of any students associations neither at college level nor at the university level
The Deputy Vice Chancellor of Students Affairs or by his representative can, by his ultimate discretionary, without any reason therefore poses any terms and conditions on the power, changes, adds, limits or revoke the power of the association.
